Winemakers in Gattinara
since 1998
The Genesis
Founded in 1998 by Emanuele Anzivino, the winery was born from the union of a great passion for wine with the ambition to face new challenges.
The choice to locate in Northern Piedmont, an area renowned for Nebbiolo, and precisely in Gattinara, demonstrates a commitment to winemaking excellence.
The acquisition of selected lands and the renovation of a historic distillery in the heart of the city marked the start of the production of important wines such as Gattinara DOCG and Bramaterra DOC .
The Vision
The joint vision of Emanuele and his son Andrea aims to harmonize innovation with traditional values, transforming each bottle into a unique work of art. This philosophy positions their winery at the forefront of winemaking excellence, making it a distinctive point of reference in Alto Piemonte.
The family dimension of the Anzivino company is the result of a deliberate strategic choice, aimed at ensuring meticulous attention to detail and preserving exclusive production, thus ensuring quality wines.
The Result
The Result is the fulfillment of a passionate research, where respect for the grapes and the territory merge with the art of winemaking to express the authentic essence of Nebbiolo dell'Alto Piemonte. Each bottle is the fruit of uncompromising dedication, which enhances the unique character of the grapes and the richness of the soil, telling the story of a land and the people who live there.
From the vineyard to the cellar, to the glass, the result is a journey that celebrates the integrity of the raw material, the balance of nature and the constant commitment to quality and winemaking excellence.
Our Wines
The Supervolcano
The Gattinara hills have their roots in a geological history of over 300 million years, marked by the eruption of a supervolcano that shaped the morphology of Valsesia . This caused the crust to fold and the rise of deep volcanic porphyries, today also visible on the surface.
This extraordinary geological heritage has given rise to soils rich in particular minerals, which give Nebbiolo di Gattinara a unique character. The combination of these soils and the distinctive climate of the region creates an unrepeatable terroir, enhancing the complexity and elegance of a wine intimately linked to the history of its territory.
The Vineyards
The Gattinara vineyards benefit from a unique terroir, thanks to an ideal microclimate characterized by hot summers and strong temperature variations, influenced by the presence of the Monte Rosa massif.
Our crops extend over three main areas: the hills of Gattinara , with the Luccineglio and Molsino vineyards dedicated to Nebbiolo for the Gattinara DOCG, and Roasio , where the porphyry soils host Nebbiolo, Croatina, Bonarda and Vespolina for the Bramaterra DOC. With the guidance of the oenologist Giuseppe Zatti , Nebbiolo, the authentic king of the territory, is enhanced to create excellent wines.
Viticulture
We have both plants that are over thirty years old, which tell the story and the winemaking tradition of the area, and new plants designed to maximize the potential of Nebbiolo. In the new vineyards, we have carefully selected the best clones of Nebbiolo, chosen for their ability to fully express the distinctive characteristics of our terroir.
The vineyards are entrusted to a close-knit team that combines deep knowledge of rural tradition with the most advanced winemaking technologies, working with passion and respect to maximize the value of Nebbiolo and the territory from which it is born.
